The Power Of Habit by Charles Duhigg

“A young woman walks into a laboratory. Over the past two years, she has transformed almost every aspect of her life. She has quit smoking, run a marathon, and been promoted at work. The patterns inside her brain, neurologists discover, have fundamentally changed.”

How do you review a masterpiece? Not an easy feat. This book grabbed me the moment I read the cover. Habits are the things that pull us towards reaching our full potential, gracefully, methodically, and ultimately successfully. Habits can also be the great inhibiter, the thing that keeps us from reaching our goals, our full potential and ultimately our vocation and purpose.

Charles Duhigg does a wonderful job of taking complex neuroscience and encapsulating it in a way that everyone can understand, and more importantly, emphasise the importance of extending the proper amount of attention towards our daily routines.

A Must read for anyone who is serious about reaching their goals, being happy, and changing deep seeded unhealthy patterns. The power of habit opens up a world of opportunities for self-improvement, a masterpiece indeed.
